InDesign - What Is It?

InDesign is part of the Adobe publishing suite. It is also a multi-layered program that can take months to learn.

Never fear.

We are going to start small and work on basic skills until the end of the school year.
When we are done, you will be able to develop and layout your the text and graphics of your children's book.

In the beginning, we will be completing simpler tasks.

First, let's take a look at the welcome screen and get to know your choices.

Once you begin a new document, you can begin to understand how to set up that document in the areas of bordering and spacing.

Now, let's take a good look at your workplace. You need to know where the controls are and what they do. It will be vital for you to master these controls. If you do not, you will find yourself very confused when it comes to arranging text and pictures in a document. Make no mistake about it - if you learn the program and practice, you will do well. If you take this lightly, it will be extremely difficult.
